Motorcycle Repair: 97 flhri throttle cable replacement, throttle grip, cable replacement

bought a new throttle cable and need to replace the broke old one. any help
would be great i have never changed out a HD cable.

Answer
Adjust the old cable so there is alot of slack in it. Look at where its installed in the throttle body and remove it. remove the top cover on the throttle grip and you will see how its installed. Once you have the cable disconnected you have to remove it and reroute the new cable the same way the old one goes. Inorder to do that you usually have to remove the fairing to get it through. you can tie a  string to the old cable and pull it through and then attacht he new cable to the string and pull it back.
