Motorcycle Repair: 2005 sportster, panka, air cleaner

my bike is coughing black smoke and keeps dying help what do i do? has 300miles

Sounds to me like possibly the carbs are set to rich for the bike, on the other hand, its very possible the air cleaner is clogged not allowing enough air into the system causeing a rich condition...Definately replace the plugs before diagnosing further though..
