Motorcycle Repair: bike doesnt want to run, flat blade, screw driver

Question
hi, I recently purchased a 83xj 650.  when i first started the bike it was shooting fuel back into the air filter and when i checked floats were sticking so i had the carbs cleaned out.  now when i go to start the bike it just doesn't want to stay running. when i turn the choke on it'll idle for as long as its not touched but the moment i try taking the choke off it'll cut off, and also when i touch the throttle it cuts off immediatly.

Answer
Hi Sunny,

You best bet at this point (since you have experience) Is to remove the carbs once more, and MAKE SURE the pilot jets are clean, they will be the tiny little jets located inside of a very small tube, easily overlooked if you do not know they are there. You'll need a very small flat blade screw driver to remove them, and be sure the screwdiver fit just right or you may strip the top off of the jet. (made of brass) they have a VERY tiny hole which feeds the engine at idle and up to quarter throttle...This should fix your issue..

Hope this helps!!
