Motorcycle Repair: 2001 Yamaha V-Star 1100 motorcycle, ac volts, regulator rectifier

Question
This bike is not "putting" out but 11 volts.  What do we need to check?

Answer
Bubba,

Check battery, if it's okay and charged up,
-Set multimeter on "AC" volts. In the
stator connector check the voltage
between any two of the three white wires
with the engine running fast. You should have
approx 60-70 "AC" volts.
-If your output is good from the stator,
likely the regulator/rectifier is faulty.
-Check any connectors for loose wires or
corrosion.

-You should have between 14.1-14.9 volts output.
-Your system is 350 watts and about 25 amps current.
