Motorcycle Repair: Oil Flow, tank bottom, oil tank

Question
I am adding an oil cooler to my 2000 Buell X1.  I would like to just add it in-line with my return oil line.  I see two oil lines attached to the oil tank.  One at the top and one at the bottom.  I assumed the bottom one was the scavenge and top was the return, but I'm questioning this.  Any help on oil flow through this 1200 sporty engine would be greatly appreciated!!!  Thank you.

Answer
Casey,

-The large bottom line is the feed to the oil pump.
The large line near the top is the
return oil. The other lines would be
drains or vents, usually a bit smaller lines.

The oil goes from the oil tank (bottom line)
to the rear of the oil pump.
The pump feeds the oil filter.
The line on the inner front of the pump
returns the oil to the oil tank.
This is my best scenario.
