Thanks for any information you can provide. I would like to convert the original points / condenser system to an electronic ignition. Do you know if this is possible and are the parts available? I purchased the bike in 1978, parked it in 1980, and am finally finishing up getting it ready for the road. Thanks again.  Ralph

Ralph, I am not aware of a conversion for your bike. Basically Honda put a magneto ignition system on the machine, but spread the parts around the motor and chassis. Properly maintained and adjusted, it should provide adequate ignition for all but racing applications.

Trying to go to electronic ignition would require battery power to run the ignition, rather than use of the self-powered system that Honda supples with your bike.

It really is designed to be used as it is. You can't start mixing and matching parts without some major modifications.
