Motorcycle Repair: VTX 1800 Front shock rebuild info, oil seals, fork leg

Question
Can you find information on line about the rebuild procedure on the forks on a VTX 1800 without buying a manual?
Thanks

Answer
Ray,

-this webpage has a fork rebuild similar
to what you would basically need to do
on your bike:http://www.geocities.com/bender647/forkseal/
-You may have to remove
the right caliper, fender bolts, wheel
and fork covers, which have an o-ring
near the top.
-Forks have a bolt straight up in the bottom
of the fork leg that hold everything
together.
-The fork oil seal is held in by a circlip.
-The fork spring is held by the top cap
and sometimes  a lock nut under the
cap.
-Be careful with prying out oil seals
the edge of the fork can break.
I use a puller with a weight on it to
pull the seal out slowly.
The fork oil level is about 5.5 inches down.
