Question
I have a 1982 Seca Yamaha Bike I would like to know how do u bleed the brakes on them we tried and  it doesn't work is there a way of doing it please help me thanks

Answer
Marty,

the brakes are a little tricky to bleed because
air can get trapped in the master cylinder
or caliper. Also the fluid can get
permeated with small air bubbles which make
it hard to bleed properly.

-the best way to get bigger air pockets out
is to keep the fluid topped up and
loosen the banjo bolts up near the master
cylinder after pulling the brake lever in.
Tighten the bolt before letting go of the
lever.

-Do the same down by the calipers, loosen the big
banjo type bolt after pulling the brake lever in.
Again tighten before you let go of the lever.
Wrap some rags around the bolt to keep fluid
from spraying all over everything.

-Then try using your small bleeder screw again
for any smaller bits of air left in the system.

-Always keep the fluid topped up to prevent
any more air from getting in.

-If you look in the top of the master cylinder
you may be able to see small bubbles
coming up when you pull the brake lever slightly.
You can tap the lever and some of these small
bubbles will slowly work there way out.
Don't pull the lever too fast or fluid may
spray out on you or the bike.

-Eventually you should get some brake pressure.
