Motorcycle Repair: recently purchased 1971 900cc sporster, rear brakes, webbers

Question
the bike in question is pretty rough, though the clutch,both front and rear brakes are operable.It has a custom Webber carb.The kicker is a problem though, it seems to just spin with only the spring for tension.the old boy  i bought it from said he tried to kick her and it broke loose now it spins. can U help with the carb rebuilding and the kicker problems. I promise that I will have many more questions on this bike.thanks Jim from Texas

To repair the kicker problem you would have to remove the primary and clutch hub. The kicker assembly is located behind it. Your gear is probably worn out.
On the carb. I dont really know anything about Webbers and not even sure if you can get a rebuild kit for it. If it were me I would replace it with a S&S.
