Motorcycle Repair: carb jetting, intermediate jet, jet sizes

Question
1993 fxrs with a evo.i have edlebrock performer heads and not sure what cam but its built fast.i put on a pro pipe v h and it has a shorty ss  carb what jetting size should i start with do you recommend please. so i wont have to piss arround with all different  jet sizes

Answer
There is no exact jet size that you pick. What works for one bike will not work for another.
First, start with the jets you have. Turn the pumper off. Go for a ride, but stay below 3000 RPM. If it spits through the carb the intermediate jet is to big, bogging, the jet is to small.
Once you have that set, do the main jet. Ride and go over 3000 RPM. Do the same for the intermedate jet. Once you have them set then open the pumper just enough so the bike will not bog between gears.
Good luck and happy riding
