Motorcycle Repair: QA50 with spark problem, point gap, qa50

Question
I have a 1972 QA50 with no spark, and I noticed you had the same. Did you get the bike running? What ended up working? I have a new coil and new points, but still nothing coming out at the spark plugs. Any ideas?

Answer
Ben,
a few things to look over are:
-Are the points contacts clean, sometimes
they need cleaning especially when new.
-is the point gap too wide preventing the contacts
from closing?
-are the points set to break open as the "F"
mark aligns with the case mark.
-do the new coils have a good ground to the frame?
-Is the plug cap resistance under 5k ohms.
try it without the cap.
-is the kill button okay or shorting the ignition?
-is there continuity on the coil under the flywheel?
-how is the magnetism on the magneto flywheel? weak/strong
-is there a condensor problem?
-try a spark plug with a smaller gap.
-are points properly insulated so they don't short to ground?
