Motorcycle Repair: xr70, tdc mark, cam shaft

Question
Hello,
I replaced the rings in my sons xr70..i put it all together. Alighned the T mark to TDC and made sure the sprocket lined up to the mark. When I got it together and started it up..it makes a noise, sounds like the cam shaft is slapping against the rocker arms. Any ideas as to what might cause this...?

Answer
Hello Joe,
do you have a book for this bike. Most honda's TDC mark is not a T. and on the cam shaft sporket you have two marks you have to line up there. If you are sure this is all right and in time 100%. did the cam fall in right are did you have to work it in.  was there play side to side and was the bearing still in place on cam..There is alot to remember i know.  its hard to see over the internet. I have had back lash problems come to my shop shop and it was a easy as a arm not in place.. you really almost have to take bike apart and put it back toghter.. Good luck
