Motorcycle Repair: Kawasaki kx kickstarting problem, kawasaki kx250, kawasaki kx

Hi David....I sure hope you can help me. I've got a 94 Kawasaki KX250. Kickstart lever has always wanted to stay in the down position. I took the side engine cover off reinstalled the spring (I'm hoping the kickstart mechanism is pretty much the same for most 2 stroke dirtbikes) in what appears to be the correct manner, but it still want's to keep the lever in the downright position. It's like the spring wants to assist the lever in going down....not coming back up. Any thought??

Hello, Jason and good luck before i start. When u take the side cover off the kick starter should work of a tab on both side's ON MOST kaws, you have to push the kick starter down and let the spring pull it up.. NOT like most where u leave the kick starter up and just get tesion's. But its a trick and hard to explain i hope u get the point..
