Motorcycle Repair: Kawasaki Ninja 250, kawasaki ninja 250, motorcycle electrics

Question
My bike has been sitting for about a year. I tried to start it and it wouldn't start. I tried to give it a jump and that did not work.

Answer
Adam,
likely the carbs are gummed up from sitting.
Stick a spark plug in one of the wires and
see if it has spark. If it looks okay, put the
wire back on the engine and
spray some wd-40 in the intake and see if
the bike runs  on it. You may need to clean the
gas tank, fuel lines and carbs if it
won't go. Make sure the battery is charged fully.
Jumping can be bad for motorcycle electrics,
too much amperage can damage the computer modules.
