Motorcycle Repair: Primary oil change, ozs, drain plug

I have an 05 Sporty XL C, I would like to know how to go about changing the primary fluid, and which type of fluid is best. I've change the engine oil and filter many times now. Rising costs keep me from going back to the shop. Can you help a novice?

Start the bike and let it warm up. Under the primary you will see a drain plug. remov eit and drain the oil. remove the center cover on the primary and fill with 32 ozs of fluid that is made for primaries of a Sportster.
As the the best, that is going to be a matter of opinion. You can ask 10 different people and you will 10 different answers. You cant go wrong with harleys oil.
