Motorcycle Repair: Add an electric start, starter solenoid, drive gears

Question
I have a Suzuki 350S 1991 Dual Purpose.  It has a kick start.  I am having trouble starting the bike since I 've gotten older.  Can I put an electric start on this bike?

Answer
Diane,
it might be conceivable but I wouldn't recommend
it due to the high cost of changing all the parts
necessary to make it work. In other words
you would have to convert it to being a 1994 model
which had electric start available.
The engine cases are different as well as the
drive gears and you would need to buy a starter
and also your bike is not wired for electric
starter, so the handlebar controls and other
electronic controls like starter solenoid would
need to be added. It would be much easier and
more economical to get a newer model with all
that work done already.
