Motorcycle Repair: fork oil capacity, fork oil, fork leg

Question
On a 1985 maxim 700, can you tell me what the front fork oil capacity is supossed to be in each tube.

I checked a few manuals and each one
gives me a different amount, possibly
because one is for a fork oil change and
the other is for a fork rebuild with totally
dry forks.
Anyway these are the two specs:
9.24 ounce (262cc) or 10.5 ounce (311cc)
in each fork leg.
