Motorcycle Repair: clutch, clutch cable, clutch lever

thanks for info ,found oil glass,2000 yamaha 1100 vstar ,shaft drive ,clutch handle pulled all way in ,if move bike back and forth gets alittle easy to move but still clutch drag,can not get in gear to run it around ,stales out as soon as I put in gear even with clutch in ,is any thing can add to oil to loosen up clutch ,,thanks for help

additives probably won't help and may
just cause other clutch problems.

There is a little cover on the
lower left side of the engine. You may have
to remove the bigger cover behind it
first. This is where the clutch adjuster
screw is. Loosen the clutch cable adjuster
first to give the cable some slack.
Then loosen the little locknut on the
screw. Turn the screw in until it lightly stops.
Then back it out 1/4 turn and lock the nut again.
This adjusts the lower setting on the clutch.
Now go back and tighten your clutch cable adjuster
until you have 1/8-1/4" of slack on the clutch lever.
You may have to have the clutch repaired if this
doesn't help.
