Motorcycle Repair: 81 Suzuki rear tire, broken bolts, bolt extractors

Question
I have a 1981 Suzuki GS450T that I just bought and the rear tire needs replacing. I have the new tire, I just need to know how to get it off the bike so I can bring the wheel to a shop and have them switch them out. The bolts on the engine that hold the exhaust won't come out and one of the bolts is broken. The left muffler is in the way of taking the wheel off. Is there any other way to get the wheel off?

Answer
Michael,
you have to get the axle out to remove the wheel.
Can you loosen any of the exhaust bolts enough
to loosen the rear of the pipe?
You just need enough room to pull out the axle.
You may want to repair those broken bolts,
a loose exhaust can cause other problems
eventually, like backfiring, poor running etc.
Broken bolts can be removed with bolt extractors,
you drill a hole in the bolt and use the
extractor to twist the broken piece out.
Get them at an auto tool store.
