Motorcycle Repair: 86 Honda Nighthawk 700s, honda nighthawk, shift fork

Its popping in and out and back in when shifting into 2nd gear and 2nd gear only. All other gears are fine.  The bike is awesome other than that.

Fred,
it is likely wear on the shift fork and or
sliding gear dogs. There is a detent wheel
in the right engine case that holds
the shift drum in place, but if other
gears stay in I suspect the transmission
is worn. Would require rebuilding the
transmission unfortunately.
