Motorcycle Repair: Gas Leak, kawasaki ninja, gas tank

Question
I have a 1997 Kawasaki Ninja 500ex.  I have had it for 4 days.  I have filled the gas tank twice, and the second time i filled up after i parked the bike a couple of hours later there was a small puddle of gas under the bike.  I have a small cup under the bike to see if it continues to leak and i also turned the gas valve to off.  What ever information you could give me I would greatly appreciate it thank you.

Answer
Kyle,
1.I suspect the petcock or gas tap first.
Sometimes rust gets in these and the fuel
filter. Might be able to get a rebuild kit
from Kawasaki.
2.Pressure is building in the tank from a plugged gas tank vent or cap vent. The pressure can push gas back out
the carbs and air filter box. Otherwise, it may be a bad gas line, or leaky gas tank. Carb float needles
may leak if worn or dirty.
