The scooter starts right up but when you drive it about 1/2 a mile it quits it starts up again but doesn't stay running.

Hi John,

The problem may be caused by one of many. I cannot accurately diagnose the problem from the information provided.

The problem may be a partially obstructed feul petcock, pinced fuel of vacuum hose, varnished crburetor, fuel system ventilation problem, fouling spark plugs, defective ignition system, and others.

I suspect the problem is not major.

I recommend that you have a local Yamaha tech inspect the problem for you.
