Motorcycle Repair: 1992 800 Intruder, push button switch, clutch lever

Question
Will the computer controlled electronic ignition make the  ignition switch go bad?  Bike won't start.  Push button switch on handlebars does not work.  Fuel pump does not come on.  Headlights and tailights working.  No fire to spark plugs.

Hi, sounds like a power shortage, possibly a relay etc.
Check for power to the fuel pump, if none then further
checks will need to be done to isolate where the
breakdown is. Start with the obvious like the battery
condition and work your way back to the pump etc.

PS:Also, I believe there is a no-start switch on your clutch lever, and sidestand that might be bad or a faulty kill switch.
