Motorcycle Repair: neutral light, kawasaki ninja 250r, kawasaki model

My husband bought me a 2007 new Kawasaki Ninja 250R for graduation/mother's day.  We've had it for a couple days.  The neutral light flickered in while riding and now will not turn off at all unless the bike is turned off.  It doesn't matter what gear we're in; the neutral light remains lit.  What in the world could that be?  Thanks,

Happy Mother's Day!

I suspect the neutral light switch is defective or a problem exists with the switch wire or connector. I'm sure the problem is minor.
