Motorcycle Repair: chain replacement on 82 flht, shovel head, sharing your expertise

Hi Mike and thanks for sharing your expertise .I have had  my chain on my 82 shovel head break and we are trying to replace it ourselves and it is a closed system any tips would be appreciated Or any good visual reference you know of that could be helpful.  Thanks

that closed system you have is a pain to work on!
If the old chain is still on the front sprocket you can remove the rear covers, attach the new chain to the old and feed it through. If not then you are going to have to remove all the covers as well as the inner primary to get the chain on the sprocket.
If you need pics your best bet is a service manual for your bike
