Motorcycle Repair: fuel injected to carb, crank sensor, stock components

Question
I'm changing a motor in my bro's bike for him.Its a 97 ulta classic fuel injected with only 21000 km. lost oil press and found the crank bearing on pinion side not properly seated and the bearing cage broke sending pieces thru the pump and thruout the motor. He bought a stock HD motor off a co-worker out of a 96 Ultra not realizing it was carb job and not having a hole in the cases to mount the crank sensor. He wants to now put the carb engine in and change over what ever to make it run. Dont want to put points in a 97 just to get him up and running, but was wondering if you could give me any info on putting an electronic ignition in with module and so forth, and how to wire it in, computer changes and or what ever is necessary. He cant afford to fix the original engine now that he bought the other engine, and just wants to get his bike running and eventually fix the original motor and re-install it with all the stock components, injection and so on. Any advice on this or is it going to cost as much as trying to fix the original engine. Thanks in advance, hope to hear from you ASAP

Answer
Your taking on a big job and a costly job changing a fuel injected bike to a carberated bike. the is so much wiring you have to change that there is no way I can tell you on here.
Your best bet, if you still want to do it, is get a service manual and follow the wiring diagram, removing or discinnecting the wires that are not needed and installing wires that are needed
Good luck with your project
