QuestionGoldwing 1993, 100k miles, shifts fine:
I have some noise in first and second gear on this bike, it is a whine like an old volkswagen when the transmission has massive miles on it.
It is one of two things (I do not think this bike has a primary chain) it has gears to drive the clutch basket and it might be there.
Or, it might be the final output shaft...there are many gears there.
Or it is the gears on the primary and secondary trans shafts.
I have no idea what is wrong, so any advice is helpful...on other goldwings i have owned when they got 100k miles the primary chain made some noise but only when cold........otherwise they were quiet.

John i was told that when there are some mile on the bike it will make a winding noise,and i guess that a 100k on that bike is nothing.We have serviced them with over 500k if you can imangine that!!!!!
