Motorcycle Repair: Fairing removal, fork tubes, retro radio

I have a 07 Electra Glide Standard and want to install a retro radio package in the faring. Can you tell me how to remove a fairing? front cover

Put a towel over the front fender and remove the headlight rim and headlight if it's in the way.  Remove the windshield screws from the front (torx).  DON'T overtighten these when you reinstall!!  You won't be able to lift the shield up until the whole front fairing is loose enough to pull it a little away.  Windshield has to come forward then up.  Remove the side torx screws from the back of the fairing and finally the two hidden torx screws at the bottom, from the back, just insid of the fork tubes above the lower triple tree.  Turn the forks from side to side to access these easily.  As I recall they are all #27 torx.  If you haven't bought the radio yet, remember with aftermarket units you will not be able to use your handlebar controls.
