Motorcycle Repair: cylinder head sealant?, fly cutter, silly putty

Question
Dear Mike, I have a 1982 FLT (1340) shovelhead. The front head was milled 15 thousandths, because of a couple of nicks that were in the mating surface. The "mechanic" that milled the head used a Fly Cutter on it. Needless to say, it isn't a perfect job. I have about 3-4 thousandths difference across the head, it has the look of a ripple effect. I placed silly putty in the valve reliefs of the piston, bolted everything back in place and reinstalled the pushrods. The valves didn't even leave an imprint in the Silly Putty, which is good!
My question is: Do they make a sealant that I can apply to the head gasket to make sure that it seals to the jug? Most of the guys I know say that the head gasket will seal it, but I don't want to have to take this apart again. The reason that I don't want to have it re-milled is, I don't know how much lift I have on the cam and how much room I have to play with before things get bent. Shovelhead heads are hard to find and EXPENSIVE. Thank You in advance for any info that you can give me. Sincerely, Bryan

Answer
There is no sealent you can use. If you have that much difference you will probably blow a head gasket. You need to get it flat. Once its flat, recheck your clearence for the valve to piston clearence. On need at least 60 thousands clearence.
Good luck and happy riding
Mike
