Motorcycle Repair: low idle, stop screw, nightrain

Question
I own an 05 nightrain W/ 1600m. Bike has S&S carb, Vance Hines Shortys, and Dyna ignition. lately bike seems harder to start and idles low. Wants to stop running untill warmed up but still idles low after that

Answer
Your bike should idle at about 900 rpm when hot.  Set the idle speed with the idle stop screw on the side of the carb.  Too low of an idle speed setting will make for hard starting.  Whoever installed the S&S should have adjusted this when the bike was hot.
