Answer
Needless to say Randy it has to be done carefully.  One method is to use a small steel pick to get under the lip of the seal and pry or pull but don't pry against the cam or scratch the surface of the camshaft.   The method that usually works best is to drill a small hole, like 1/16" or 3/32" in the face of the seal at the outer edge without touching the cam cover and without going so deep that you hit into the cam cover under the seal.  Then take a hard thin sheet metal screw and screw it into the hole.  As soon as the tip of the screw bottoms against the cam cover it will start to push the seal out and you can pull on the screw with some vice-grips to get it off.  Just be careful with your drilling.  I've done this dozens of times with no problem.  And pack the lips of the new seal with waterproof wheel bearing grease before installing it.  Good Luck.
