Motorcycle Repair: Custom Grips and Aftermarket Exhaust, performance air filter, change good luck

Question
Mike,

I purchased a 2007 FLSTC in October, currently have 3100 miles and absolutely love it.  I have been adding some accessories and recently purchased some custom diamondback grips.  I reviewed the instructions and they stated to refer to the service manual to install the throttle grip, where do I get one and is it absolutely necessary to do so?  I hesitated putting them on since I don't want to do anything to the throttle.  I am also looking at the Vance & Hines Pro Pipe and have been told different solutions for the EFI by well meaning folks.  Some folks have told me if I don't change the air filter, I won't have to change the EFI settings, I have been told the local dealer can put in a new calibration upload, and I have been told to purchase the V & H Fuel Pak along with a high performance air filter.  What do you recommend?  I recently came across this site and thanks for all you guys are doing!

Answer
You dont need a service manual to install grips, but if you are planning on doing work on your bike its a great resourse to have. You can get one at your local dealer.
Just remove the cover to the right grip and loosen the cable adjusters. Slide the grip off and install the new one. Once you have to cover off you will see how its attached.
If it were me I would change the pipes and the air filter, but you will need the download to make the change
Good luck and happy riding
Mike
