Motorcycle Repair: gl1200 brakes, honda goldwings, brake master cylinder

Question
I had my front calipers rebuilt recently. When I put them back on I got fluid to the front left but not the right. I also now have no rear brake. I bled all three calipers (the rt front has no fluid) but still no rear brake and only one front.

Answer
Joe, the Honda Goldwings began using a "unified braking system" around then. The front brake master cylinder is connected to the left caliper and the rear brake master cylinder is connected to both the rear caliper and the right front caliper. You may have to use a Mityvac or other vacuum bleeding system to remove the air in the lines. Consult a good Honda shop manual for details on the procedure. I haven't worked on the UBS before, so can't give more specifics about proper bleeding techniques for that model.
