Motorcycle Repair: Clutch, clutch system components, suzuki intruder 800

Question
94' Suzuki Intruder 800... Clutch stays in engaged. Bike sat in storage all winter. Worst winter in years. Added fluid at the handle bar reservior but never could get the clutch to dissengage...

Answer
Hi Richard,

Remove and inspect the clutch system components.

The clutch hydraulic may need bleeding.

It may be necessary to clean gummed brake fluid from the master cylinder, slave cylinder, and hoses.

It may be necessary to hand separate and dress metal clutch plates and re-install.

Always replace metal plates, fiber plates, and clutch springs as a set. No exceptions. Same with chains and sprockets. The old worn parts quickly ruin new parts.

I have tech files that may assist you, however, there was no email address to return files to as requested and explained in my instructions.
