Motorcycle Repair: 1980 650 special 2, mr honda, electric starter

my bike wont start with the electric starter when it is cold only kick starting works,when it is warm it starts fine. the battery is fully charged. also sometimes it quits for no apparent reason. but i can always start it up right away

Check your battery for being fully charged and able to pass a "load test" at the dealership. It may be taking a surface charge, which is sufficent when the engine is warm, but not to crank it up after it sits overnight.

Sudden engine cut out can be hazardous to your health. Can be caused by blockage in the fuel system, contamination by water or dirt, loose electrical connectors (these bikes will vibrate all kinds of stuff loose) or perhaps a failing ignition switch or kill switch on the handlebars.

Be sure your charging system is fully funtional all the time.
