Question
i read a comment in here about changing front sprocket to 22 and rear to 48 for topend on 79 fxs. i went 24 to 25 on front and 48 on rear for same reason am i going the right way or is there benefit in lowering front sprocket.i thought my way to be theoretically logical but have been mistakin before, trust me:) thanks ahead for your help.  bigdan

Answer
If you want to lower the RPMs you turn for a certain speed then you lower the rear sprocker or raise the front sprockets number of teeth. What you lose if coming out of the hole. It doesnt make you go any faster, just uses less RPMs at top speed.
Good luck and happy riding
