Motorcycle Repair: 1992 polaris trail boss, polaris trail boss, stator assembly

the motor will not crank. the top end has been rebuilt and has fire but will not start.the coil is good and the excitor coil has been replaced along with the lighting coil.it will not start with starting fluid.the stator assembly has adjustment to advance the timing where does it set?this problem started when the screws come out of the stator breaking the wires loose.all of this relacing started after it would not fire.i replaced the coil and the lighting coil then it would fire but not start.can you give me any advice?

I need to have the ATV and perform a few tests to accurately diagnose this problem.
