Motorcycle Repair: Oil Seals, honda manuals, honda cl175

Question
Hi Mark,
I have a 1968 Honda CL175 that is leaking oil and I have purchased new oil seals.  I assume that these can be installed without tearing down the engine.  Are there any suggestions that you have that can help me, like special tools required, etc?  Thanks, Bill

Answer
Hi Bill,

Some oil seals can be removed and installed without tear-down. It depends upon seal location and application.

Same with special tools....it depends upon which seals are being replaced. A puller may be needed to remove a part to allow access to the seal.

I'm not sure if a service manual is available for model year 1968. Try this site:
