Motorcycle Repair: 1990 Suzuki gs500E, model motorcycle, temperature gauge

Question
I have two questions, first my biek rides and runs great, but I have a temp light on the guages that came on at the end of my ride the other day, this troubled me because the original guages from the bike didn't have a temp light, in trying to trace the temp wire I found that I have a tach cable that isn't attached to the guages, but the tach works.  Do you know how this could be, and if there was an aftermarket temp guage attached were would it be connected on the engine?

Answer
Hi Michael,

What year, make, and model motorcycle are the gauges currently installed taken from?

Trace the mysterious tachometer cable. Where does the opposite end attach?

A temperature gauge may be installed on the oil switch port, right hand crankcase cover.

Respectfully,
