Motorcycle Repair: 83 honda shadow, bike bandit, shift linkage

I replaced the stator and regulator on my bike while doing it I must have put the bike in 1st gear after reassembly the bike is stuck in first the shifter won't move up not even to nuetral any idea what I did wrong. Any help greatly appreciated...

Hi Mike,

I suspect a shift linkage component may be improperly aligned when the left hand case cover was installed.

I doubt that it's anythng serious. You may need to replace a gasket and spend time investigating the problem via disassembly.
