Motorcycle Repair: oil cooler, plug holes, oil cooler

Question
i have a 2000 fatboy with a 1550 kit on it, i have been told that it would be a good idea to put an oil cooler on it,there are two plugs behind the oil filter, i was wondering if i can route a feed and return line to and from these plug holes to a cooler.

Answer
You dont need a oil cooler, unless you live in a area where you will be riding alot in over 100 degree heat or if its hot and alot of stop and go traffic. Also, if installing make sure you have a thermostate that will shut off the cooler if it get to cold.
The oil cooler should be routed from the return side of the oil pump, through the cooler and  back to the tank. When you purchace the oil cooler it should have directions with it for installation.
Good luck and happy riding
