Answer
Kraig, check with www.davidsilverspares.com or cmsnl.com in Holland. I don't know why these parts would be much different than those for a VTR250, sold here in the US. Not sure what version was sold in the UK or Europe, though.
VTR250s were sold in 88-90 in the US. Be sure to reference your year and serial numbers when searching parts.

I tried some online parts microfiche sites, but neither one had the listing for the CDI. On the earlier Honda V-4s (the VT250 is half of a VT500) there were issues with the spark boxes, but some can be repaired, if carefully disassembled and inspected. There were faulty soldering joints on many of them. Be SURE that your pulser coils are okay before springing for a replacement CDI control, though. There are a lot of motorcycle breakers in the UK, ask for the unit by name/number, instead of just the application. They may have a box of CDIs lying around and can check by matching yours. Honda does make changes in components, even on bikes that are in a continuous production series, so be sure that they haven't changed the design of the part from earlier production units. In some cases, the only difference is the spark advance curve, if the plugs are interchangeable.
I typed in VTZ250 in Google and a lot of pages came up, many in Japanese, but you can use the translate option to get them into English. Check with Ebay auctions and with breakers in OZ and NZ, too.
