Question
how do you wire  this up mine was taken apart and everything does not match up the headlight is a 748cm12v60/05

Answer
Karen, when seeking assistance, please remember to provide year make and model information. Yamaha made many different 750s over the past 25 years and there are variations in the wiring for them, due to headlight monitor modules and other odd things that Yamaha is known for.... not to mention the wiring color changes through the circuits.

Headlight bulbs for motorcycles either have a 3 pin connector, like a car or they are prewired with wire leads coming out of the back of the bulb. For the most part, you have two leads that are 12v and one that is ground.

You need a small, inexpensive 12v test light of some kind and/or a volt meter, to test the circuits.

( HI LO) could be a pin pattern on your bulb... or not!
( GRND)

Usually the bottom lead on the headlight connector is ground...at least on Hondas!

Use whatever test equipment to check the power coming out of the harness wiring. Turn the key ON and the light switch to LOW beam. Ground the test bulb lead or voltmeter black negative lead and probe the wiring harness leads for a hot wire. If you find one, then turn the dimmer switch to HI and see if the power goes out or not. If so, you have found the LO beam power lead. Do the same test for HI beam lead, switching to LOW to verify that the power transfers back to the other wiring circuit. The ground lead will never have power on it.
I have had very limited experience with some 80s Yamahas and they have all kinds of "other stuff" in their electrical systems that can confuse the readings, so check the web for a wiring diagram (using your model and year) or look for a shop manual with the correct wiring diagrams.
