Motorcycle Repair: electronic control 05 sportster, scanalyzer, factory warranty

I have an 05 1200c and just installed a new electronic control module. I understand I need to have it learn the bike. I there any way to do this without having to go to the dealer? Ihave tried on off on off signal twice yada yada but nothing works

The ECM has to be told it's new password.  The bike has to be taken to the dealer and put on the HD "Scanalyzer".  If your bike has a production date of 2/05 or later (on the decal on the front frame downtube) it's still covered under the factory warranty even if you are not the original owner.
