Answer
Chris the float should be about level when you hold the carb upside down.  The factory measurment is 9/16" to 5/8" from the bowl to the bottom edge of the float (which is on top when you have the carb upside down).  Then hold the carb right side up and make sure it doesn't hang lower than 1-3/16" from the bowl.  Adjust both measurements by bending the metal tabs of the metal clip on the float.  The idle mixture screw on top of the carb should be backed out 7/8 turn.  Turning it clockwise or in makes it leaner and backing it out makes it richer.  Adjust your idle, mixture and accelerator pump when the bike is hot.  Don't set your idle too low or you will have hesitation and hard starting.  Turn the mixture screw in and out a little from the 7/8 initial adjustment to see if it idles more smoothly.  If not leave it at 7/8.  Initial adjustment on the accelerator pump is 1/4" between the end of the screw and the stop.
