THE TENSION BAR FOR TIMIMG CHAIN IS BROKEN.
I NEED A GOOD MANUAL TO GO ANY FURTHER. CAN YOU RECOMMEND
ONE? I'M MODERATLY HANDY BUT NEED 'CB 360 FOR DUMMIES'

Eric, you can start here with some illustrations for free...

They do show the exploded parts for the camchain tensioner.

Now, are you talking about the slipper or guide, that runs on both sides of the camchain or the tensioner bar, that pushes the whole mechanism together, through the pivot arm?

The slippers and guide can be done with the motor out and just the top valve/cylinder head cover removed.

If you broke the parts in the bottom, then you will have to split the cases, to access and replace them. BIG JOB!

Whenever possible, use the OEM Honda books. Some of the Clymer's or Hayne's books are okay. Haynes better than Clymer's in most cases. Check Ebay for manuals, sometimes they are converted to CDROM copies in PDF format. They are unique in design, so the CB350 books are not helpful as a guide. The camchain tensioner is actually quite similar to the CB350-400F models, along with similar styled design on the CB160-175s, as I recall.
