Motorcycle Repair: Leaking Carb, honda cl350, fuel lines

Question
Hi. I have a 72 Honda CL350 and the left carb is leaking out of the overflow. The bike sat for 5 years in a garage and when i added gas they leaked out the overflow and all fuel lines. I replaced the fuel lines and took the carbs apart and gave them a good cleaning. Its been off and on and no matter what i cant get it to stop leaking. Any ideas? Thanks!

Answer
Hi Evan.

You have one or more bad gaskets in the carb.  If you haven't done a rebuild on the carbs, then it might be in order.  At the very least, you should replace the o-ring for that line.  But since you need to do that, you should just replace them all.

It is always easier to do the rebuild and replace all of the old gaskets and seals than to patch them as they fail.  This one has failed and the rest are not likely to be too far behind, if they are all original or since the bike sat for 5 years without use.

Good luck and ride safe.
