Motorcycle Repair: 1962 flh, plug hole, spark plug

good morning mike i just bought a 1962 flh its been sitting for 10 years i was told 2 things one guy said try and start it up and see what you got , the other said look in the spark plug hole and if you see rust pull the motor apart .well ive seen rust . what should i do and if you could give me a round about price to take the motor apart for a total rebuild .  thanks pat

If it were me and the bike had been sitting for 10 years I would rebuild the motor. You probably have rust rings in the cylinders.
A cost for a rebuild in my shop would be around &1800.00 depending on what parts you would need
