Question
I have a problem with idel speed .Carb seals and gaskets are good Units are clean When it warms up a little it will not idel down It will idel a about 2200 to 2800rpm Cables are not binding and were checked for syn. over all it runs well. When I pull up to stop it just will not drop down to idel speed

Answer
Hi Ronnie,

The usual causes for this are vacuum leaks and improperly adjusted carburetor synchronization.

Check for vacuum leaks around carburetors and intake manifolds.

Adjust the engine idle screw and re-check synchronization.

Check vacuum hoses for pinched, dry rotted, and collapsed hoses.

Check cylinder compression and valve clearances. The carbs will not function properly if these are not within service limits.
