Motorcycle Repair: Rear Shocks, rear shocks, question pool

Question
How do I adjust my rear shocks to carry more weight. My wife rides with me now on our 1987 Honda Shadow VT700C. Thank you in advance for any and all help. Dennis The Menace

Answer
Hi Dennis,

I found your question at the bottom of  AllExperts' "Question Pool." If you've resolved the problem, disregard my reply.

To adjust the rear shocks on your Shadow, rotate the cam located on the bottom of each shock to the highest cam position. This will compress the spring a bit and firm the ride.

Stock suspension components are less to be desired. I recommend that you purchase a quality after-market shock.
